Small Towne Preservations has been hard at work, bringing a greater sense of community to Sharon. Here are some of our featured community projects.
Through community fundraising we were able to purchase, assemble, and place eight new benches throughout the Sharon Downtown. These benches are not only nice to look at but they are made of recycled plastic, are safe and comfortable, and will last for many many years with little to no maintenance.
In the summer of 2022 we hosted four Cruise In nights. Classic cars from around the area parked in our historic downtown. Car owners and enthusiast gathered to chat about cars and to shop and dine at the local business throughout the downtown.
Thanks to a grant from AARP Wisconsin, we were able to supply forty meals to members of the community. Some gathered together for friendly conversation with their meal and some meals were delivered to those in need who couldn't make it out to the event. We're hoping to make this a yearly holiday event.
Thanks to our board member, Doug Koehler, we were able to hand out fishing poles to local children in return for coloring us a picture. Pictures were proudly displayed at Small Towne Market and each child left with a pole!
